Alison Plevey

Dance – Alison Plevey graduated from WAAPA with a first class honours degree, BA – Dance (2009). She directed Australia Council and Regional Arts Funded youth dance works ‘No Planet B’, ‘Talk2Me’, ‘Synthesis’ and ‘CLIQUE’ in regional NSW, 2010-2014. Alison is co-director of dance and physical theatre company Lingua Franca with Adam Deusien. In 2013 their debut work Right Behind You was¬†presented in Bathurst, Canberra, Brisbane and toured to the Wirksworth Festival, UK. At Short + Sweet Dance Festival 2013 she was awarded Most Outstanding Choreography and Best Female Dancer for her solo work Lachlan. In 2014, Alison won a Canberra Critic’s Circle Award for her “mesmerising and tour de force solo performance” as Alice¬†in Johnny Castellano is Mine. Alison works closely with QL2 Dance and Canberra Youth Theatre.
