James Hunter


James Hunter was recognised as 2010′s ACT Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He is one of ACT’s leading filmmakers, having worked alongside some of Australia’s most reputed talent including Rhys Muldoon (Oscar Nominated The Saviour), Oliver Ackland (The Slap, Heath Ledger Scholarship Award recipient), Sophie Lowe (Best Actress AFI Award Nominee, Beautiful Kate), Toni French (Emmy Award Winning make-up artist for The Pacific) and Jane Hyland (Costume Designer, Secret Life of Us, Mao’s Last Dancer) in his short career to date. James is currently working on adapting Judy Nunn’s bestselling novel ‘Maralinga’ to screen. It is being developed with the assistance of ScreenACT and production company WBMC (Son of a Gun). James resides in Canberra and currently works for the National Gallery of Australia. He is proud to have been a part of the ATY Project in 2007.
